Question - do I need an appointment?
Answer - no.  Walk-ins are welcome; we will get you in and out in under 30 minutes.


Question - how long does a smog check take?
Answer - below are the general guidelines depending on the model year of the vehicle:
  • 2000 and newer - 15 minutes
  • 1996 - 1999 model years - 25 minutes
  • 1995 and older vehicles - 35 minutes

Question - how long does a clean truck check take?
Answer - under 20 minutes for OBD vehicles

Question - are you a STAR station?
Answer - yes.

Question - do you send smog results to DMV?
Answer - yes.  Immediately upon completion of the test, the test results are transmitted electronically to the DMV database.  We also print a copy for you for your records.

Question - do you charge extra for electronic transmission (ETF fees) or payments made by credit card?
Answer - no.  Your charges and final invoice match exactly to the Estimate matches exactly to the Coupon.

Question - are you open on Sunday?
​Answer - yes.  We are open 7 days a week.

Question - does low tire pressure light or ABS/brake light cause my smog test to fail?
​Answer - no.  Only the check engine light can cause the smog test to fail.


Question - is California getting rid of smog checks?
​Answer - no.

Question - how much should a CA smog check cost?
​Answer - depends on the area and special promotions that a shop may have.  In the city of Hemet, smog check for a 2000 and newer vehicle costs $45 - $60.

Question - how much is a smog check at a Star Station?
​Answer - exactly the same as at a regular smog station as the testing procedures are the same.

Question - do I have to pay the certificate fee again if I need a retest?
​Answer - no.  A certificate fee is incurred only in the event of a passing smog test.  So whether you need one retest or ten, you should pay the certificate fee of $8.25 only once.

Question - do you perform California Clean Truck Checks (CTC)?
Answer - yes.  Drive in and get your Clean Truck Check Certificate.  We perform CTCs on OBD heavy duty vehicles:
  • 2013 and newer diesels
  • 2018 and newer alternative fuels
